"PER NON DIMENTICARE"
Il Museo della Guerra Bianca in Adamello si dedica fin dal 1976 alla conservazione,
allo studio ed alla valorizzazione del patrimonio storico-culturale della
Prima Guerra Mondiale, nell'ambito specifico detto "Guerra Bianca",
ossia relativo al fronte d'alta montagna, con particolare attenzione ai
settori operativi d'alta e media quota che dal Passo dello Stelvio, attraverso
i massicci dell'Ortles-Cevedale e Adamello-Presanella si estendono fin
quasi al Lago di Garda.
Il Museo, attraverso immagini e oggetti conservati con cura attenta e
rigorosa, ma anche attraverso percorsi educativi lungo i mille sentieri
e manufatti militari di un territorio tuttora profondamente segnato dagli
eventi della Grande Guerra, ha lo scopo di mostrare al visitatore gli
aspetti, ormai lontani nel tempo, di quegli anni di guerra, a oltre 3000
metri di quota, e di mantenere il ricordo dei sacrifici, delle sofferenze,
delle vite distrutte perché rimangano perenne stimolo e monito
di pace.
Una particolare attenzione è rivolta dal Museo all'aspetto didattico-educativo,
con l'elaborazione periodica di interessanti mostre tematiche e la pubblicazione
di saggi e guide sull'argomento.

WE FORGET"
The 'Guerra Bianca in Adamello' Museum, since 1976, carrying out the care
of the national heritage left from the First World War, give a concrete
response to the need to remember that dramatic page of history which saw,
among its many protagonists, the inhabitants of the valleys that descend
from the Ortles-Cevedale and Adamello-Presanella massifs, in a relative
area from high to medium-level altitudes that from the Passo dello Stelvio
stretches almost as far as Lake Garda, and which saw them fight each other,
sons of the very same mountains.
"Guerra Bianca" (literally "White War") is that particular
name given to the First World War fought among snowfields and glaciers.
The museum, through images and artefacts which have been carefully and
rigorously preserved, but even through historical itineraries along the
thousands of tracks and military fortifications of a country deeply signed
by the events of the Great War, aims to show visitors aspects of those
war years (now very distant in time) at altitudes of over 3,000 metres.
Another goal is to keep alive the memory of the sacrifices and the suffering
of that period so that it may represent an everlasting quest for peace.
